Calories Burned Calculator
The Calories Burned Calculator estimates energy expenditure for an activity using the information entered, such as body weight, activity type or intensity, and exercise duration.
MET-based method
A common estimate uses metabolic equivalent of task (MET). A widely used approximation is calories per minute = MET Γ 3.5 Γ weight in kilograms Γ· 200. Multiplying this value by the activity duration gives an estimated calorie expenditure.
Using the calculator
Choose the activity that best matches what you did, enter your body weight and duration, and calculate the estimate. Use consistent units when entering time and weight.
Why the result is an estimate
Actual energy expenditure depends on pace, fitness, technique, terrain, body composition, and many other factors. A calculator result should therefore be treated as an approximation.
